A tragic road accident in the Maharashtra district of Nagpur claimed the lives of three laborers after a truck loaded with bricks overturned near Isapur village on the Savner road route. The devastating incident occurred when an Eicher truck traveling from Khapa to Movad reportedly lost control and overturned by the roadside.
According to reports, six laborers were sleeping inside the truck’s cabin at the time of the accident. Early in the morning, the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle near Isapur village, causing the truck to veer off the road and flip over. The impact of the crash was so severe that three workers died on the spot after being trapped inside the cabin.
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and helped rescue the injured workers from the damaged vehicle. The injured victims were quickly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities said the condition of the injured workers remains serious, and they are currently undergoing treatment.
The deceased laborers have been identified as Sanjay Kanere, Liladhar Walulkar, and Ajit Bhalavi, all believed to be residents of the Movad area. The injured workers were identified as Rajendra Rajguru, Hemraj Kanhere, and Subhash Dhurve.
One of the most shocking aspects of the incident was the alleged behavior of the truck driver and vehicle owner after the accident. Reports suggest that instead of helping the injured victims, both fled the spot, leaving the laborers behind in critical condition. This sparked anger among local residents and created chaos in the area.
Following the accident, the Katol Police Station registered a case against accused Praveen alias Golu Bale. Police have filed charges under serious sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities have also launched a search operation to trace the accused persons involved in the case.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about road safety, overloading, and the unsafe transportation conditions faced by daily wage laborers traveling in commercial vehicles.
