*Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai appeals for caution and compassion amid severe heatwave* *Urges people to protect children, elderly and labourers, arrange drinking water for passersby and care for animals and birds* Raipur, May 27, 2026/ With temperatures continuing to rise across Chhattisgarh and several parts of the country, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday appealed to people to remain alert, take health precautions and extend support to vulnerable sections during the ongoing heatwave. Chief Minister urged citizens to drink sufficient water, carry water while travelling outdoors and avoid unnecessary exposure to harsh sunlight. He said simple precautions can help protect individuals and families from heat-related illnesses. Shri Sai also appealed to people to arrange drinking water for passersby near homes, shops, offices and public places wherever possible. He said small acts of kindness could provide major relief to those struggling in extreme heat conditions. Calling for special care towards children, elderly people, labourers and those working outdoors, the Chief Minister said anyone showing signs of illness due to heat should immediately be shifted to a shaded or cool place and provided water, ORS or other fluids. He also stressed the need for timely medical assistance in serious cases. Chief Minister urged people to remain sensitive towards animals and birds during the summer. He said keeping small containers of water in homes, terraces, courtyards and nearby places can help save lives during the intense heat. He added that the situation calls for collective responsibility, awareness and compassion, and appealed to people across the state to support one another during the extreme weather conditions.
