Trump Pushes Muslim Countries Toward Israel Alliance; Pressure Mounts on Pakistan
Former US President Donald Trump has once again stirred political debate in West Asia by urging Muslim-majority nations to normalize relations with Israel. Trump claimed that stronger ties between Muslim countries and Israel could transform the Middle East through peace, economic growth, and strategic cooperation. According to Trump, he recently held a virtual meeting with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan. During the discussion, he encouraged these nations to join the Abraham Accords — the diplomatic agreement launched in 2020 that led several Arab nations to establish official relations with Israel. Trump argued that countries already participating in the Abraham Accords, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, have benefited greatly through increased trade, investment opportunities, and stronger diplomatic relations. He described the agreement as one of the most important peace initiatives in modern history and claimed it could bring long-term stability and economic strength to the region. The statement has reportedly increased pressure on Pakistan and other Muslim nations that still do not officially recognize Israel. These countries currently lack diplomatic and open trade ties with Israel, mainly because of historical and political disagreements related to the Palestinian issue. US media reports suggested that the virtual meeting became tense after Trump directly asked leaders to normalize relations with Israel. For a few moments, the conversation reportedly went silent, with no immediate response from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Pakistan. Trump later joked by asking whether everyone was still connected to the call. Another major point of discussion was Trump’s statement regarding Iran. He suggested that even Iran could eventually become part of the Abraham Accords if it agreed to future diplomatic arrangements. The remark drew attention because Iran has long opposed Israel and has never officially recognized the country. Political experts believe Trump is attempting to rebuild a strong pro-American and pro-Israel alliance in West Asia by bringing together Israel and influential Arab nations. His latest comments have once again highlighted the shifting diplomatic landscape in the Middle East and the growing pressure on countries that continue to stay outside the Abraham Accords framework.
